It's been a really busy weekend in the Thompson house! We decided (ahem...Randy decided) to rent the skit-steer to start tearing up the old [dead] grass in the yard this weekend. He ended up spending the majority of yesterday (and a little bit of today) working on it. I tried to get him to put it off a weekend since this was Father's Day weekend, but he wanted to just get it done. He's did get quite a bit done, and hopefully by early July, we'll have a brand new sprinkler system and sod. Since he worked his butt off all day yesterday, we decided to do his Father's Day dinner early (also assuming that we'd want to just relax when we got home from South Fork today.)
Hanging out at Wingers. I couldn't get a smile out of Jax for anything. It was close to bedtime, though. :)
Jax let us sleep in this morning, so we crawled out of bed around 8:30. Randy got Jax while I made him a cup of coffee (with the mug Jax gave him for Father's Day).

Then we brought out the big present and Jax got to help Dad open it.
Reading the card
I thought it was cute, so I wanted to share.
He really is such an amazing Dad! Jax is a lucky boy to have him!
Ooo - bows!
These look fun.
Bows, bows everywhere.
Dad showing him how to open it.
Finally getting it a little bit!
The [sleepy] boys and Dad's brand new Shop Vac and coffee mug.
After he opened his gift, we got ready and went to Cimarron West for breakfast. Jax got to try biscuits and gravy for the first time, but just a couple bites. He mainly stuck with his cherrios. :)
Ready to go!
Crappy cell phone picture at breakfast.
He wouldn't stop staring at the little girl at the table next to us.
So after breakfast and a quick nap for Jax, we went out to South Fork to meet up with my Dad, Erin and family. We originally planned on spending the afternoon on the boat fishing and tubing, but the wind was so bad that they were already bringing the boat in by the time we got there. The wind never settled, so we just spent the afternoon hanging out and trying to escape the 95 degree heat!
Jax with Heidi.
Hanging out on the blanket.

My dad's dog, Kitty, relaxing.
Jax with Arielle. He was jabbering...not being grumpy. LOL
The boys.
Before we headed home for the night. Jax was sleepy and allergies were kicking up!
Overall, it was a pretty fun day. Now Jax is crashed for the night and Randy is finishing up a few things in the yard before we have to return the skit-steer tomorrow. I'll post pictures of the progress on the yard soon, as well as a few other projects we've been working on.
Oh, I almost forgot! I did take Jax's 10 months photos, but he was not really having it. Now that he figured out how to get around quickly, it's almost impossible to keep him still. I'll probably try to take some more tomorrow. But, for the time being, here are the ones I did get. :)
That thing again?
Ok, I guess I'll laugh if you let me hear Dad on the phone.
I just wanna roll away!
I don't want to take anymore pictures! :(
So, needless-to-say, I stopped shortly after that last one, and got him dressed and let him just play for a few others.
Spacing out.
Playing with his penguin.
Silly face.
Let me touch it!
Serious.
Teeth!
And last, here are some cell phone pictures. [Think I take enough pictures of this kid? Nahhhh. ;)]
Monkey boy. He loves looking at himself in the camera.
We've been running him around like crazy! He keeps falling asleep in the car, but he's so precious. :)
Playing at the park with Grandma.
He's a happy boy in the morning.
More sleeping and a little peeking. :)
And a video of him waving, saying uh oh, up & what a puppy says. :)
Okay, I think that about covers it! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend as much as we did. Take care!
Today, we went to South Fork with my Dad & Erin for our first ride in their new boat (and Jax's very first ride in a boat). Jax didn't seem to love or hate it, but I'm sure that'll change as he gets older. It was a nice relaxing ride, though. Here are some pictures. :)
We had to wake him up from his nap when we got there, so he spent the first part of the trip cuddled with me. I can't say I didn't love every single second of it. :)
This last weekend was busy, busy for us. Friday afternoon was Caleb's high school graduation. (YAY!) Heather, Will and Ellie also got into town that day. Saturday we had his graduation party, and Sunday we spent most of the day hanging out with Heather, Will and Ellie before they had to head home Monday morning. It was a fun weekend! Here are pictures! :)
At Caleb's graduation. Unfortunately, Randy was still at work and couldn't make it.
I love these guys! Best siblings ever! And I can't believe my little brother is a high school graduate...sheesh, I feel old.
Had to get one with the neice and nephew. Poor Jax was miserable. (Too hot, loud and his allergies were acting up!)
Lined up, about to come out.
Jax and Ellie sharing a bath after graduation. Made them feel much better.
Caleb's awesome cake. It was made by my stepdad's secretary.
Proof he made it! Congrats Caleb! We're so proud of you!

Laughing at Becky.
She was determined to make him laugh.
Haha. We made him pose like this.
His graduation gift from his grandparents...kinda scary. ;)

Jax & Ellie enjoying the pool on a hot day.
Ooo - I love this swimming stuff!
Yeah, this is my pool.
Grandpa with his grandbabies
Handsome boy rocking his golf hat.
Really, Mom?
Love those blues!
Pretty Ellie, all ready for bed.
And now, what I really wish I had pictures of was Caleb's reaction when Randy drove up in his "new" car my parents gave him for graduation. Randy spent the week before graduation getting it all ready for him (oil change, new bushings, brakes, etc.). We also "stole" Caleb's stereo (that we all got him for his 16th birthday) out of his truck while he was at work the Monday before graduation. As expected, Caleb was really mad. He wanted to call the cops, and Tom told him he'd take care of it (since he was obviously in on the joke). We really just wanted to have it installed in his new car along with the rest of the stereo stuff we bought him for graduation. Just to make sure Caleb noticed, I put a sticky note on the cd player that said "miss me?". The look on his face when he noticed was priceless. Pretty hilarious. We still felt bad for making him think someone had stole it all week long. Made him appreciate it, though. ;)
I also mentioned a while ago that we got some family photos taken. I don't want to take the time to upload them all on here (it would take days), so here's the link where you can view them:
You have to login with our password "thompson12" to be able to see the photos.
If you want any of the prints, you can order them directly from the photographer on that site, or just let me know here on the blog which ones you would like and I can order them.
And now I'll leave you with a few videos. :)
This was obviously a few weeks ago when he still had his helmet, but it cracks us up how crazy he was going in that thing!
He sure loves ice cream, but it looks so painful! LOL
Singing along to the ABC's
Silly boy in the morning
He says uh-oh! We're counting that as his first word. Oh, and today he started saying "up." Neither of these words are coming out on a regular basis just yet, but occassionally when you ask him to say them, he will. :) He also started to pull himself up on things a lot this last week. Our baby is growing up too fast!
So, that's all I have for you right now, but I'll be taking his 10 month pictures very soon, so keep an eye out for those. Plus, I started to make him a "quiet book" today, so I'll post pictures of that when I'm finished, too. Take care!
Hello friends and family! We decided to start this blog to keep all of you updated on our everyday lives. Okay, mainly just updated on Jax... ;) Please leave us comments, and make sure to keep us updated on how you are doing, as well. We hope you enjoy! :)
